your wallet. And you don't need to add a subwoofer to this set - each
tower comes with its own subwoofer built in!

The AlumiFront is a surprisingly strong, full-range, three chamber
tower. Its smooth upper frequency response comes from a 1" pure
aluminum cone tweeter with a gently rounded, horn loaded face plate.
This tweeter also uses a high energy neodymium magnet that is 20
times stronger than ceramic magnets. Ferrofluid cooling adds high
dynamics and stronger power handling. The 6-1/2" woofer is also
quite remarkable. Its aluminum cone is very stiff and light producing
excellent transient response in the upper midrange. And its huge 20oz.
double magnet system coupled with an "Omniflex" rubber surround produce
a bass response that rivals most 10" woofers.
But that's not all! The AlumiFront hides a secret weapon inside.....
a very powerful 8" subwoofer. The sub's dual chamber forth-order band pass
design produces room shaking bass which is vented out the back of the
cabinet through a computer optimized flared port. And since the
AlumiFront is biampable, its subwoofer can be driven by a separate
amplifier for even greater control and impact.
At only 9-1/2" wide the AlumiFront will definitely surprise you!

Built-In Subwoofers
Our AlumiFront speaker has a secret hidden inside. It's an extremely
powerful, long excursion 8" subwoofer. This driver is mounted in its
own dual chamber band-pass sub-enclosure with a three inch rear mounted
flared port. The mid-bass driver and tweeter are placed just at the right
height (ear level) for relaxing on your sofa. The AlumiFront produces a strong
and accurate full-range sound required by today's digital formats.

Aluminum Cone Midbass & Tweeter
The aluminum cone mid-bass driver is no small potato either.
With its 20oz. magnet, thick rubber surround and long excursion found in
much larger drivers it easily reproduces the chest pop of a snare drum or
gun shot. The aluminum dome tweeter is also built for clean powerful response.
It uses a high energy neodymium magnet that is over 20 times stronger than
ceramic magnets. Its pure metal dome is mounted in a gently curved mini-horn
baffle plate.

Zero-Diffraction Baffle Edges
All D+S cabinets have one-inch radius rounded front edges to help smooth
out high frequency ripple caused by sharp edge diffraction.

LEAP Optimized High-Power Crossover with EDC
Each driver section (woofers, midranges and tweeters) in every D+S speaker
is individually measured and optimized for a smooth blended response using
the latest industry standard computer measurement equipment and software.
All crossovers employ premium grade air-core inductors and metallized
polypropylene capacitors for all driver sections.

Solid MDF Construction
All D+S loudspeakers are built from heavy, one-inch thick non-resonant
fiberboard. Solid MDF glue-block corner bracing is then added to all
seams to further reduce vibration. The AlumiFront also contains two
one-inch thick shelves internally to create a three chamber enclosure.

Hand Stained and Lacquered Real Wood Finish
These units are finished with real red oak veneer and a beautiful
light oak stain with a durable polyurethane clear coat.

Dual Gold-Plated Binding Post Terminals for Biamping (AlumiFront only)
All D+S loudspeakers accept dual or separate banana plugs, pin or spade
connectors, or twisted bare wire up to eight-gauge thick. Using biamping,
the AlumiFront's built-in subwoofer can be powered by a separate amplifier
for precise control of bass in your room.
